After obtaining her degree in Theater from UCLA, Samantha began producing and directing PSA’s and news magazines for cable TV in San Diego, CA, while earning Equity credits on stage.

When a producer colleague needed help with Continuity on a feature film, she borrowed a stop-watch and showed up on the set the next day.  One film turned into an extended opportunity to work on projects throughout Europe and North America with some of the finest directors in both film and television:  James Ivory, Joseph Ruben, Tsui Hark, Xavier Gens, Christophe Gans, Neil Jordan, Carroll Ballard, Darius Khondji, Zach Snyder, Jan Egleson, to name a few.

Thankful to have ventured beyond the I-5, she’s lived in London, New York, Boston, Eastern Europe, Canada, Paris, the Loire Valley, and the French Riviera.  All have contributed to her extreme sense of irony.

Martha Graham said, “There is a divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive...”

Samantha Z’s divine dissatisfaction drives her to search for the essence of art and creativity in the most obscure places.  She is committed to stimulating our potential to live life to its fullest.
